Ann Travers was born in Terre Haute, IN, the first daughter of five children. She has always loved drawing and writing, and was an art and English teacher for most of her life. She attended the University of Illinois for her BA and, later, for her MA. She taught in several Illinois schools, and worked one year at the Evansville, IN newspaper. She is a bit cat and horse crazy; although she didn't own a horse until she was 45 years old. She has two grown children, her daughter living in New York and her son in LA. Her husband and children are her support squad in writing this first book during her retirement. Ann and her husband follow horse racing, particularly at Arlington Park, and at other parks on vacations. She taught riding lessons for many years, but now simply grooms, trail rides, and loves her own horses. She is also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Ann and her husband live in the country with five cats and two horses in central Illinois.
