Born in Texas, Sherrie grew up overseas in Indonesia as the daughter of missionaries Avery and Shirley Willis. As a result, she had opportunity to travel the world and experience new cultures. At age sixteen, she determined to make a career of teaching students with learning disabilities. She also met and fell in love with Steve Brown, whom she married six years later.
Sherrie is a currently a Reading Specialist for elementary students in the North Kansas City School District of Kansas City, Missouri. She has a B.S. in special and elementary education from Peabody-Vanderbilt and a Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Steve and Sherrie have led worship and pastored two churches. They now lead a house church and an outreach ministry for children and youth.
Sherrie is both a mother of three daughters and a grandmother. She loves long walks, spending time with family and friends, and working with youth. As time allows, she also enjoys playing games, refinishing furniture, reading, and writing.
