Lawrence Trimble is a noted administrator, educator, minister, and business professional with a solid and successful background in working with organizations, youth, and families. For the past 15 years, Lawrence has worked in many different capacities from interning with youth serving organizations to administrator in the public schools system. His interest in working with underserved populations has motivated him to embrace many professional and personal challenges.
During his tenure as District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, Lawrence had the privilege of serving and expanding the inner city scouting program. The main functions of his job were program development, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and organizational partnership development. In this role, he led organization in experiencing the highest level of membership growth not only in the local council, but in the Midwest region. For this reason Lawrence was recognized as the recipient of the Regional Top 50 employees, and recipient of the Chief Winners Circle Scouting award for highest membership growth.
For the past 9 years he as served the Decatur Public Schools in many different capacities as: Family Based Intervention Coordinator, Dropout Prevention Coordinator, Project Aware program manager, and currently Director of Student Services. In this position, he created and implemented a 6th grade program at 5 elementary programs, which sustained a 100% promotion rate for two years. As the Project Aware Manager, he worked on the foundational goals with establishing community partnerships, infrastructure development, and implementing Youth Mental Health First Aid Training.
As Director of Student Services, he is responsible for the implementation of district goals in the area of non-instructional supports, trauma informed care, integration of restorative practices, integration of behavioral health supports, and social emotional learning. Within his first year he expanded the department to better serve students and families.
Lawrence serves many community initiatives, and has been the guest speaker for different events. He has received numerous accolades for his work in human services, and literary works. He has authored three spiritual books, while serving in pastoral ministry at his local church. Lawrence is a licensed and ordained minister and community servant. Lawrence is married to his wife Brittanie for 13 years, and they have three sons.
