Robert E Rodden II is a full-time writer who grew up in Central Illinois, raised by two loving and supportive parents, who encouraged his reading from an early age, and his fiction writing when it took off later in life. He is the proud father of two daughters who he encourages in their respective career goals. He writes mostly horror and science-fiction, and is known by those who have read his few works for his graphic, sometimes clinical depictions of ordinary people facing unimaginable horror. His favorite authors growing up were Ray Bradbury, Shirley Jackson, John Steinbeck, Stephen King, Clive Barker, John D. MacDonald, John W. Campbell, and many more.
His short story Sunflower’s Weep won fourth place in the horror genre category of Writer’s Digest 76th annual Fiction Writing Contest, and appeared for the first time in Space and Time Magazine, issue 111, edited by Hildy Silverman.
He is an avid reader, as well as a film buff who has a love for horror and science-fiction films dating from the silent era to now.
