Karla M. Jay

Karla lives in Salt Lake City with her husband and one very large silver lab. She has written in many genres, from a cozy, humorous mystery series to a dark noir about vigilantism, but she mainly focuses on historical fiction. Honors include awards or recognition from The Independent Press, NYC Big Book Awards, the US Review of Books, Reader View, the “Hoffer” award, and Indies Today. She was one of three writers nominated for Colorado Writer of the Year in 2026 and has spoken at several Zoom classes on self-publishing. She is already working on her next novel, and it’s a safe bet it will be about injustice, suffering, and survival.
