Melissa Nixon

Melissa Nixon has been dedicated to her work in education for over 20 years. She has served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district-level administrator. Also, as a mother of two, her role as a parent provides further understanding of the need for Powerful Parent Partnerships.

Her commitment to education is evident in her work as an adjunct professor at High Point University, North Carolina, where she builds knowledge for future school leaders about understanding diversity in education, school law and ethics, using data for school

improvement, and 21st century leadership.

She also serves on the Phi Delta Kappa International Board of Directors. Dr. Nixon presents and

has publications on Building Cultural Competency, Social Media for the 21st Century Educator, and Building Parent-Friendly Schools.
