Russell Gilwee

Russell Gilwee writes atmospheric, small town, rural-gothic horror where coming-of-age hardships collide with otherworldly and human monsters, Faustian bargains, and dark secrets lurking in the woods at the edge of town. His novels weave slow-burn folk-horror with character-driven psychological suspense, drawing comparisons to early Stephen King, Josh Malerman, Ronald Malfi, and Joe Hill.

He is the author of THE TREEHOUSE, SORCERIE, HERE LURK MONSTERS, THE NIGHT SITTER, and other dark tales steeped in solitude, temptation, and the supernatural intruding into everyday life.

Russell Gilwee lives in Northern California with his wife, Lauraleen, and their goldendoodle, Sophie—usually with Sophie snoozing beside his desk as he dreams up new nightmares.
