Ashley Hinck

Ashley Hinck is an Assistant Professor in the Communication Arts Department at Xavier University. Her research examines fan-based citizenship performances as new civic practices emerging from networked media. Hinck’s work can be found in Critical Studies in Media Communication, Communication Theory, Argumentation & Advocacy, Transformative Works & Cultures, among others. She is the author of Politics for the Love of Fandom: Fan-Based Citizenship in a Digital Age (LSU Press, 2019) and co-author of Poaching Politics: Fans, Trolls, and Participatory Culture in the 2016 US Presidential Election (Peter Lang, 2018).
