DAVID PARISH has spent the past three decades as an independent business and nonprofit consultant, lobbyist, entrepreneur, and author. During that time, he has worked among global energy and mining industry leaders, giving him a bird’s-eye view of natural resource development in the 21st century. David has also advocated for efforts to address autism and developmental disability challenges, teen suicide, child abuse prevention, youth tobacco and marijuana prevention, and funding for public broadcasting. In these endeavors, he has worked with elected officials—from governors to legislators of all political persuasions—as well as environmental activists and Native leaders.
David founded a global consulting practice advising dozens of companies doing business in Russia on political, regulatory, and healthcare issues and was publisher of the Pacific Russia Oil & Gas Report.
His client and volunteer experience reflects a deep belief that a robust economy with strong environmental stewardship is critical to providing the resources necessary to support healthy communities. An active outdoor enthusiast, David is a tireless advocate who has served on numerous community boards spearheading programs for children, especially those improving parks and recreational opportunities.
With Alaska as his home base for a diverse set of local, national, and international clients, David has worked around the globe as a business consultant and advisor, service volunteer, and curious traveler interested in how the traditional divides of “us-versus-them” approaches to natural resource development can be bridged and how the wealth from responsible natural resource development can be a catalyst for better environmental stewardship and the elimination of poverty.
