Wayne R. Martin

Wayne Martin grew up in the cranberry country of Central Wisconsin – the world's largest cranberry growing region. He viewed the cranberry marshes in all seasons, saw them covered with ice in the winter as they lay dormant, watched them as they emerged in the spring and summer and observed them turning ruby red and being harvested in the fall. First as a photojournalist, he documented the harvest and processing of the berries and he later hungered to capture the beauty of the colorful berries. He returned 30 years later to fulfill his curiosity and ended up with a book!

Wayne retired from his professional photography business in 2017, but not from his cameras. He and his wife, Anne have traveled to all four corners of the continental US, Alaska and 8 Canadian provinces since then in their small RV. As you might guess, there have been just a few photos taken during those journeys – the desert Southwest, Canadian Rockies and the Maritime provinces being among their favorite destinations.
