BJ Mountford

BJ Mountford’s first mystery, "Sea-born Women," was called "a terrific debut" by Margaret Maron. Her books have been nominated for the Mary Higgins Clark Award and the Sir Walter Raleigh Award, recommended for regional collections by the "Library Journal", and reviewed by “Publishers Weekly” and “Kirkus” among others.

"Fireborn Woman" is the third in the Sea-born mystery series set on the Big Island of Hawaii where Mountford spent two seasons as a volunteer. She is also the author of an international mystery: "Deadly Dive Paper" set on the shores of the Red Sea in Egypt. Her best seller, "Night of the Loon," is a 'cosy' post apocalypse and winner in the National Writers Club. BJ's newest series, "Color me Alien" and "Footprints on Alien Worlds" are SF capers about the rediscovery of planet Earth and coming of age in outer space.

BJ was born in San Francisco, brought up on the west coast of South America, went to boarding school in Barbados and college in Pennsylvania where she met her husband. They have 4 children. She retired to the coast of North Carolina where she worked as a volunteer for the National Park Service in the Outer Banks, Georgia, Hawaii and Idaho. Retiring for the second time, she spent 5 years in the Sinai of Egypt and now lives in Baja Sur, Mexico, but still considers herself a North Carolina resident.
