Marius S. Ostrowski

Dr Marius Ostrowski is a social scientist, political theorist, and historian focusing on how ideas and ideologies emerge and gain influence among the general population.

He is especially interested in how ideology shapes the way we think, in theories of social democracy past and present, and in visions of European unity.

Marius has held Fellowships at All Souls College and the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, and at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute, Florence. He is also an Honorary Professor at the Centre for Research into Ideas and the Study of Political Ideologies, University of Nottingham.

Born in Frankfurt, he speaks fluent German, French, Italian, Russian, and English.
