Jessica has written over 41 books from fiction to non-fiction, fantasy, juvenile stories, children's books, adult supernatural thrillers, and young adult action adventures. Many of her books are humorous works and even her series on caregiving will bring smiles and laughter through the tears. Recently accepted into the group AlzAuthors she is pleased to have her books featured among some well-known titles.
Jessica lives in North Carolina with her husband, Skip. She has always written but found that while caring for her mother who had Alzheimer's she 'needed' to share her caregiving journey with others. At that time she wrote four books:
I Am Not a Village
Fine Tuning My Life
There's a Stranger in My Room
The Memory Keeper
Her granddaughters are the inspiration for her books for young readers, teens and young adults. (See complete list of books).
Jessica began writing as a child publishing her first work in 3rd grade; she wrote a poem that was published in a teacher's quarterly magazine. While her creativity was always a part of her early and adult years when she wrote for her two children, it didn't surface in printed books until she became a grandmother. Suddenly she felt a need for her grandchildren to have books to read that provided exciting and imaginative stories with good lessons. Later, she bravely stepped out of her comfort zone and began editing her myriad journals, humorous works, and short stories to begin her extensive collection of full-length books. She loves writing mysteries and continues to write books in various genres.
Besides writing, she enjoys creative cooking and entertaining. She is an
advocate for caregiver services and support as well as an organizer of support groups, a blogger, a public speaker, a volunteer. Professionally, she is a REALTOR managing a real estate brokerage.
