Richard Amiss

Richard Amiss was born in 1963 in Dubuque Iowa and is the youngest of twelve children. At the age of 6 he moved to Thomasville Georgia and then at age 17 moved to Tallahassee Florida. He graduated with a bachelors degree in psychology from Florida State University and then moved to San Antonio Texas to pursue a graduate degree in counseling from UT-San Antonio. After several years of internship became a licensed professional supervisor, registered play therapist supervisor and then acquired a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Counseling from Jacksonville Theological Seminary. He has been doing therapy for almost 22 years and is now looking into speaking to small groups and seminars. He loves being outdoors with his wife, reading, traveling and playing the drums. Richard has been doing individual, couples, parent consultations, family and play therapy while also providing trainings to personal and employees. He supervises and trains people on how to be a counselor. He is now a published author and is preparing for another book and speaking engagements.
