Robert Grant

I am a medical statistician by training, and I worked in health research for nineteen years before starting my own business to focus on training and coaching. I have written scientific journal papers, magazine articles, reports and many blog posts, as well as my first book "Data Visualization: charts, maps, and interactive graphics". What I enjoy most about writing and teaching is introducing the basics of data science to beginners, lifting the confusion and giving them an idea of where to aim with their careers.

While I was writing "Data Visualization", I left my academic post and started a mixture of self-employment and childcare. It was a busy time! It might not be obvious from the American spelling in the book, but I live in the suburbs of London, England, with my wife and daughter.
