Azlan Iqbal

I am an artificial intelligence (AI) researcher with decades of experience in chess, computing, and tertiary education. My primary areas of interest are computational aesthetics and computational creativity. I developed the award-winning chess software, Chesthetica, and its successor, Caissandra.

I have published more than 120 works, including in The Computer Journal (Oxford University Press), ICGA Journal, Encyclopedia Britannica, ChessBase, and at leading AI conferences including IJCAI and AAAI. I have been writing software, including commercial programs, for more than 30 years.
