For 36 years I served as a pastor. For four years I served as a denominational press editor. Always a story-teller, I told my children short tales on camping trips, and would write short stories on biblical themes for my congregations. Then I started writing a story about a retired pastor, crippled by a stroke, standing in front of a smart refrigerator. Two and a half years later and I had written The Last Chaplain.

When the wife of my youth was diagnosed with multiple brain tumors, I stopped working on a second novel to take care of her. After she passed I wrote a series of entries on Facebook about our life together and the amazing courage she showed as she faced this dreadful illness. Friends encouraged me to write a book. Life Without Fu is the result.

Soon after, I reconnected with a woman I had known briefly in high school. She is a college professor, serving on the same faculty as my middle son. Now, she is my wife. I have been double blessed.

Working again on the second novel. I still have stories to tell.
