With the Martian Spring Trilogy up and running, I'm working on promotions for that series and adding a new novel to an old one.

The Freedom Tavern Series, set in the foothills of North Carolina during the birth of our county, will see the resolution to one of our familiar characters, plus we will be visiting history as it might have happened in Burke County, NC.

Virginia Rose Cooper was a young girl in 1780, and in 1788, she is on the cusp of adulthood. Her father is ill, and Virginia is considering paths for her future.

While she weighs the offers of a friend she hasn't seen in years, life around her is changing. Waightstill Avery is keeping company with Andrew Jackson, who had vowed to kill him just months before. A methodist Bishop is passing through town, even though the Presbyterians have reigned over religion in Burke County for years, and John Sevier, a hero of the revolutions, is in jail in Morganton. Everything is topsy-turvy, and North Carolina is still deciding if they will accept the country's new constitution.

While we are waiting for Virginia Rose to sort out her problems, look for a new gift book for Mother's Day or any special woman in your circle of family and friends. Trailblazers: Bold Women in My Family Tree is on the way.
