Dan Behm served for eighteen years as President and CEO of Open Systems Technologies (OST) a $160 million technology company known for its people-first culture.
Dan is at heart a serial entrepreneur. Since retiring from OST he has acquired a boutique luxury hotel in Costa Rica, several commercial and residential real estate properties in the U.S., partial ownership in multiple small business, and is in the process of building an over-the-water resort on a private island in Bocas Del Toro, Panama.
A graduate of Michigan State University, Dan received the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year award for Michigan and Northern Ohio in 2011. In 2012 he was the recipient of the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch Champion and was named the Grant Thornton Leader and Innovator of the Year. In 2015 Dan was honored as the MSU West Michigan Business Person of the Year. Dan is director on multiple boards and servers as a mentor for the Jandernoa Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program (JEM).
Dan lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with Barb, his wife of 35 years. He enjoys spending time with family including four grand-daughters, along with playing racquetball, fly fishing, sailing his 1980's Hobie Cat, traveling, reading novels, and attending Spartan football and basketball games.
