Ren Vandesteeg

Ren Vandesteeg was born in Ede, The Netherlands in 1945 to Dutch parents. He grew up in California and served six years in the Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam War. After a life-changing conversion experience, he attended Calvin College and Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI, where he met his wife, Carol. After pastoring churches for five years, he served 25 years as a military chaplain, experienced two wars (First Iraq War: Operation Desert Storm - 1991 and the Bosnian War - 1996-1997). He retired from the Air Force in 2004 in the rank of colonel. He served as Life Group Coach for 130 groups at Oak Hills Church, San Antonio, TX under the leadership of Max Lucado. Later he accepted a call to pastor at Air Force Village Retirement Center, San Antonio, TX. In 2018 he published, "God's Plan: Eliminate Biblical Ignorance" to show God's plan for humanity. In his book he simply connected key verses in the Bible (like connecting the dots) and traced God's plan for all people throughout human history from beginning to end. The book is an easy read and makes the Bible simple to understand making it possible for people to experience God.
