Paul Wickham

Paul Wickham was born in 1958 in Bournemouth, on the sunny south coast of England.

He was educated at The Bournemouth School, a boys grammar school. His passion for writing was developed at school and has remained with him spanning nearly five decades.

His early working life was spent in the hotel, gaming and travel & leisure sectors.

Latterly he worked in the home improvements and construction industry.

He lived and worked in the Republic of Bophuthatswana and Johannesburg South Africa in the early 1980's, travelling extensively and also visiting Botswana and Zimbabwe.

The highlights were many; The Garden Route from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town, The Kruger Park and the Eastern Transvaal, The Drakensberg, The Victoria Falls, Mafeking and Mmbatho, Durban & Umhlanga and Pretoria. Memorable and inspiring times!

He returned to the UK to pursue a career in the travel industry. This provided the opportunity to holiday in Spain, The Balearic & Canary Islands, The Portuguese Algarve, Holland, France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Turkey. I may have missed a few in my dotage!

The poetry and love songs that comprise the collection,

"A Lifetime In Poetry - A journey through five decades",

have resided in an old ring binder file, building over many years!

It was upon his 60th birthday that he decided to take the leap and create the book, something he had been promising himself to achieve for ages!
