Ron D. Snee

Ron Snee is President of Snee Associates, LLC. He provides guidance to senior executives in their pursuit of improved business performance using Lean Six Sigma, Quality by Design, Process Modeling, and other improvement approaches that produce bottom line results. His work focuses on the process Industries. His clients include Merck, Novartis, ImClone, HGS, Celgene, Greene Tweed, Kraft Foods, and FMC BioPolymer. Prior to this assignment Ron used his broad experience and expertise as Principal, Tunnell Consulting and as Senior Management Consultant and Six Sigma Deployment Leader with SBTI. His work focused on the effective deployment of process improvement initiatives including strategic planning, strategy of experimentation, project selection, Executive, Champion and Master Black Belt Workshops and deployment guidance. He has played a major leadership role in process improvement initiatives for 31 organizations. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the pharmaceutical programs at Rutgers and Temple Universities.

As Vice President Process Assurance at Bell Atlantic, Ron was responsible for leading the Corporation in implementation of process management including the use of statistical thinking in improving customer service. He led a group of 18 professionals and worked in partnership with the process owners. They defined Bell Atlantic’s core business processes, established roles and responsibilities for process owners and created the Corporate model for process management.

Ron introduced new approaches for process measurement and process improvement that were projected to produce $40 million in expense reduction. He joined NYNEX prior to its merger with Bell Atlantic in 1997 and was the founding Chair of its Process Management Committee.

Prior to Bell Atlantic Ron served at Joiner Associates as Vice President, Consulting and Senior Management Consultant, from 1992 to 1996. He headed the firm’s consulting practice with responsibility for managing the consultant force and overseeing client relationships. His clients included Bell Canada, Xerox, Reliable Insurance, USA TODAY, and GE Capital. Ron was President of the Delaware Quality Consortium that administers the Delaware Quality Award and served as Judge for the Award.

Ron began his career as practicing statistician at DuPont in 1968 following two years as Assistant Professor, Statistics, Rutgers University. During his 24 years at DuPont he progressed from being an internal statistical consultant, to managing statisticians, software engineers and a variety of engineering specialists, to holding corporate level positions in R&D Planning and continuous process improvement. His work at DuPont was recognized with five major awards.

Ron received his BA from Washington and Jefferson College and MS and PhD degrees from Rutgers University. He is an academician in the International Academy for Quality and Fellow of the American Society of Quality, American Statistical Association, and American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is an Honorary Member of ASQ and has been awarded ASQ’s Shewhart, Grant and Distinguished Service Medals, and ASA’s Deming Lecture, Dixon Consulting Excellence and Gerry Hahn Quality and Productivity awards.

He is a frequent speaker and has published 7 books and more than 300 papers in the fields of quality, performance improvement, management, and statistics. His work has been recognized by 25 major awards and honors
