Nancy Peek Youngdahl

Nancy Peek Youngdahl's first children's book, entitled "My Nana Was A Free-Range Kid" is a Mom's Choice Award recipient. Nancy tells her great-granddaughter about her personal childhood in NC when she was left to her own devices. Nancy has included a photo of herself at the age of eight years in 1949.

Nancy's second children's book, "Remembering Joseph Chickadee", published by Mascot Books is about a very old and helpful chickadee songbird. It was also illustrated by Nancy. Nancy's third children's book is also published by Mascot Books and is titled "Ruth Adventures, Life on the Farm" about a very cute little 5 year old child who lives on a small farm in rural NC. This book has received a Gold Five Star Review by Reader Views. It is available in your favorite bookstore, Amazon, Barnes & Noble. Her forth book is the second installment in this series of "Ruth Adventures" and is now available as of June, 2021, entitled "Best Friends Forever". The next book in this series is in the process of production and is entitled "Summer Camp" and should be out by next summer, 2022.

Nancy and her husband, Skip, live in Mebane, NC and are enjoying their "senior years" as parent, grandparents, and even great-grandparents! Nancy also enjoys reading, writing books, golfing, painting, crafts, and traveling with Skip as well as visiting family who live mostly on the West Coast. She enjoys church fellowship, spending time with neighbors and being lazy when time permits. Nancy was a school board member and director in Washington State for ten years. She has taught art classes for children while living in Washington State and Southport, NC. She was born and reared in Mooresville, NC.
