Sheila Buska

Sheila Mary Sanderlin Buska, born in Brewer, Maine, "in a year long since forgotten," grew up in Orono, Maine and later, in her teen years, moved with her family to El Cajon, California, "thus explaining my split East Coast/West Coast personality."

Sheila married while earning her A. A. degree at the University of San Diego and returned to her studies when her four children were in high school. She earned a B.S., Business, Magna Cum Laude at San Diego State University. As a CMA and CPA she enjoyed a twenty-five year career in accounting.

During that time Sheila followed in her author parents' footsteps with the publication of a light humor column in "The Daily Californian." The self-syndicated column became a weekly column and spread to other newspapers in San Diego County. It currently runs weekly in "The East County Herald" and goes out to e-mail subscribers on Wednesdays. Her feature articles and op-eds have been published in newspapers and magazines.

Sheila's books, "Time Outs for Grown-ups: 5 Minute Smile-breaks," published in 2003, and "Paul's World:Trying to Fit in with Disabilities," published in 2015 are upbeat, light reading. "Paul's World" introduces her son Paul's unique way of dealing with life, having been born with cerebral palsy and a mild form of Asperger's syndrome - and a great sense of humor.
