Emanuel Kane

Emanuel wrote his first romance novel, When We Met, in 1975. He was in Middle School. He has since written Leap in the Dark (Koehler Books) hailed by Red City Review as “an illuminating book,” and The Virginia Pilot calls The Unpaid Dowry “a gritty, unflinching yet empathetic collage of lives.” Readers have described his writing as “powerful,” "bringing a breath of fresh air,” "intriguing," "mystical," "magical," “filled with riveting imagery." Emmanuel’s work has been published in Howard University Press, University of Yaoundé Press, University Press of America, University; Roman & Littlefield, Washington Review; Lynne Reiner, Rutledge, Sage, Greenwood, Malt House, Springer and Palgrave MacMillan. He has authored five books of poems, five novels, and several books on mass media and communication. When he’s not working on a book manuscript, watching soccer, speaking to a local organization about the plight of the poor, Emanuel is traveling abroad and preparing strategies to help state agencies communicate better with the indigenous people. He is fascinated by the power of a smile and beauty in local customs and diverse cultures.
