SUZANNE BYRNE

After 20+ years of teaching art, Suzanne S.Byrne worked 10 years for New Mexico State Adult Protective Services. The years with APS inspired The Gods of Whimsy, a short story in her collection entitled, Safe At Home.

She earned her MFA in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and a BFA in painting from Bridgeport University (by way of Maryland Institute College of Art, Ecole des Beaux-Arts, and the Art Students League).

Suzanne is a bird lover and raven devotee. She is at work on her YA novel, Corvid Ways; a coming-of-age story about a fifteen-year-old girl who learns, from her deceased grandfather, that she too is a Ravenbreith. Along with a dysfunctional family, her heritage makes social navigation unusually challenging and humorous.

The author is a resident of Gainesville, FL, where her dogs Ellie and Toby (rescues both) keep her on a short leash and let her out regularly for walks.
