Singer-songwriter Megan McKenna first came to prominence as a reality television personality. In 2017, she travelled to Nashville to experience the country music scene that she’d always loved for the three-part ITV series There’s Something About Megan. The show’s success resulted in her debut country album Story of Me being released in 2018, with two singles hitting number one and two on British iTunes, knocking Taylor Swift and Pink off the top of the chart. The following year, Megan won The X Factor: Celebrity, with her performances firing her into the iTunes Top 5 during every week of the competition.
Megan began 2020 with writing trips to LA and Nashville, and then spent the rest of the year making the most of a bad situation by dedicating much of her time in lockdown to writing songs with huge hitmakers including Toby Gad (John Legend, Beyoncé), Mozella (Miley Cyrus, Ellie Goulding, Kelly Clarkson) and Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello). In 2021, she supported Sir Tom Jones on his summer tour, performed on the main stage at the Isle of Wight festival and joined Michael Ball & Alfie Boe on a UK and Ireland arena tour, opening for them and joining them on stage each night too. She also reached the final of Celebrity MasterChef – and because Megan suffers from coeliac disease, all the dishes she prepared on the show were gluten-free.
