John Tuman Jr.

The author has worked alongside his Slavic brothers in the coal mines, steel mills, and sweatshops of Pennsylvania. He has been a worker, a soldier, an engineer, a project manager, a consultant, a college professor, an entrepreneur, and an author.

After a working life that spanned over fifty years, the author retired in 2003 to become an independent historical researcher. He has had a lifelong interest in military history, particularly in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. His research encompasses visits to battlefields in America, Europe, and Russia and the study and analysis of first-hand accounts of battles.

When not engaged in research and writing, the author visits family and friends in Ireland and Germany and his favorite getaway café in the Marais section of Paris.
