There are no fish ladders in Idaho. Dams without fish ladders are fish killers. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degrees in both Forestry and Biology while at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point in 1979. I returned to college, attending Washington State University in 1998, and became a fish biologist. While working at Lower Granite Dam, I heard stories of poisoned lakes and migration barriers. I found historical documents at a university library substantiating those stories. I put together a viable path to restoring the necessary salmon habitat that will increase salmon populations. Over 100 years of forwarnings by fish biologists are presented in my book. Now is the time to re-evaluate our current direction. Fish biologist talk about salmon recovery. But, recover from what? Readers of Whispering Past the Tombstones will be able to answer this question.
