Adrian Allan

Born in 1971. Adrian Allan made rapid progress on the guitar and studied with some of the best players based in the UK. In 1995 he passed a performance diploma in the classical guitar. He also has a degree in history from Lancaster University and a masters in history from The University of the Highlands and Islands. He has written two books of arrangements for guitar and voice of the songs of Robert Burns, which has been praised by the International Burns Federation. He has written three books of arrangements of folk songs for two guitars, to fill a gap in the repertoire for duets for students and teachers. He has written a number of original compositions for piano, strings, and other ensembles.

He is one of the world's foremost authorities on the post-Beatles career of Paul McCartney, having devoted no fewer than four books to the performer - more than any other author.

He works as a mathematics supply teacher in Manchester, UK, and teaches guitar to his children and a few select pupils.
