Sheena Vaidyanathan is a computer scientist, who worked as a software engineer and entrepreneur in Silicon Valley and then moved to education. She taught computer science (CS) to middle schoolers in California public schools for 18 years. Her ideas of code as a creativity tool inspired her classroom lessons and can be found in her book, Creative Coding in Python. An early advocate for CS education, she worked on K-12 CS and K-12 Artificial Intelligence national frameworks, developed curricula, wrote articles, presented at conferences and conducted workshops for teachers. Some of her articles and lesson plans are available on her personal website - computersforcreativity. She is the founder of Tera Farm, a nonprofit that connects farmers with local consumers. Sheena Vaidyanathan lives in Northern California.
