Lora L Hyler

I'm currently working on my second book in The Stupendous Adventures series.

My middle grade novel, The Stupendous Adventures of Mighty Marty Hayes features a multicultural cast of superheroes, working on the new CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology in their advanced 7th grade classroom, and have a love of spy gadgets.

My love of reading began as a child and carried over into a radio news career for NPR affiliate, WUWM and ABC affiliate, WISN, both in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I've also worked in television, and has a background in corporate communications management, working for Journal Communications and WE Energies. In 2001, I founded my public relations and marketing company, Hyler Communications.

I'm a winner of the Eric Hoffer Book Awards in the middle grade category, earning honorable mention in the competition's final heat. My book also achieved finalist status for book cover design. Kudos to illustrator Ian Wade of Barbados.

I've won the Jade Ring Award from Wisconsin Writer’s Association, along with several screenwriting and news awards. I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Wisconsin Writers Association, The Authors Guild, and am a popular presenter at conferences and book festivals.

I live in Glendale, WI with my husband, Ken and enjoy spending time with our son, Will.
