Suzsi has been writing for many years: short stories, plays, childrens stories and magazine articles, (including a regular gardening column for the Burwood Bullletin and a humorous series for OzBike, about a plumber called Barry).
Finally, as a result of a dare, she wrote her first novel, 'Escape from the Valley of the Kings' featuring a teenaged Tiffany Davis who falls through a time portal while poking around her grandmother's bedroom.
Not believing that she had another book in her, Suzsi nevertheless enjoyed the writing process so much, she followed up with two sequels. 'Escape from The King's Company' and 'Escape from The King's Island Prison'.
'I love the fun you can have when you plonk a modern teenager into the past with none of the facilites that they take for granted (deodorant being high on the list!). Tiffany has to mix with people from different time zones and different cultures, if she is to survive and return to her own time.
'I started writing the novels with only a rough idea of what would happen - then Tiffany took over and wrote her own story. I just did the typing.'
Suzsi has links to her short stories on facebook.com/suzsimandeville. She has recently completed editing the latest Random Writers Anthology of short stories.
When she's not writing, Suzsi is a keen gardner, a rabid angler, a lousy golfer and loses at Scrabble to her mum.
