Michele Moore Veldhoen was born on Canada's glorious west coast and spent much of her childhood living in out of the way BC towns where she endlessly explored forests, mountains, lakes and rivers. In 1977, while still in high school, she moved to Calgary, Alberta, where she continues to reside, as close to the river and the mountains as she could get. Throughout the 80's and 90's, she raised three kids on an acreage where she also tried her hand at raising chickens, gardens, and public awareness of the dangers of everything from irradiated food to the GST. Eventually, she overcame these fears and began to pursue her real passions; writing and teaching.
