Lisa Pelto, founder and CEO of Concierge Marketing Inc. Publishing Services, has been working with authors and small publishers as a publishing consultant and author services provider for over three decades. Her career in books began with an architect firm in 1980, then to an ad agency in 1986, purchasing printing and graphic design. From there, she went to Boys Town Press, where she fell head over heels in love with authors and their passion for sharing their stories. After Boys Town Press, she moved on to a dot com, where she learned how much there was to learn about online marketing. She continued working in a freelance capacity with a few authors, until one of them told her they would be her first customer if she made it a full-time business. She did just that in 2004, and has helped bring nearly 1000 books into the marketplace since.
She is a long-time member of the IBPA (Independent Book Publishers Association), and serves as the Nebraska President of APSS (Association of Publishers for Special Sales). She is a Chamber member, a member of the Past Presidents Council of the American Marketing Association, and a frequent judge in publishing competitions and the Meet the Pros Portfolio Review. She teaches a popular writing/publishing series with colleague Sandra Wendel at Metro Community College.
Her work, and that of her company, has garnered many awards in publishing and marketing, and she was selected as the Small Business of the Month by the Omaha Chamber of Commerce in 2015. While awards are nice, the repeat business and referrals she receives from her clients are the greatest rewards. She has always been fascinated with people and how they arrived at the place in their lives when her path crossed with theirs.
She lives and works in Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, Eric. They have two grown daughters, and an adorable dachshund.
