The Deadly Sound of Silence is the first in a series of four books which are not only based on the same organisation, but also the same principal characters.

As its author it is important for me to stress that having grown up in a no you don't world which was overrun with rules, I do not write in the hope of winning prizes or awards.

Instead, I write with the sole intention of entertaining as many people as possible--regardless of their age, sex, religion, or the educational level they might have achieved.

In 1980 after the Iranian Embassy siege at the P.M.'s request Cobra was established but it was not until July 22 2005 with the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes that the flaws in the system became visible.

So in 2006 I created an organisation, which exists on a level above Cobra. An organisation in which its Special Operatives would prefer to interview Persons of Interest, instead of rushing into buildings shouting Special Operations and shooting anything that moves.
