Tiffany Desiree

Based in Seattle, author Tiffany Desiree writes children’s and YA literature, including her acclaimed series, An African Spiritual Horror Collection. Her multiethnic heritage encompasses several Indigenous nations, including the Lumbee, Cherokee, and Choctaw, as well as East African, South African, and European roots. Her most popular work to date is the anthology Nature, Sex, and Culture: A Tree of Discombobulated Thoughts.

Her reception into the Eastern Orthodox Church with her husband, Josh, in 2025 informs her writing. This work deeply examines history, a focus stemming from her heritage as a descendant of Free People of Color and Mulattoes on both sides of her family. Like the celebrated American poet Ai, who had a complex mixed heritage of Japanese, African American, Choctaw-Chickasaw, Irish, Southern Cheyenne, and Comanche ancestry, Tiffany Desiree draws significant inspiration from her own diverse background.

Tiffany Desiree is also a 2012 graduate of Washington State University (WSU), Pullman, where she specialized in creative writing. She completed her degree at the honors level, graduating in the top 3% of her class. During her undergraduate years, Desiree was a prominent figure in the campus literary scene, known for her extensive involvement in spoken word poetry performances. This strong foundation in creative arts and academic excellence significantly informed her later professional work as an author of children's literature and poetry.

Josh and Tiffany share a lifestyle rooted in outdoor adventure—specifically hiking the PNW—and carefully exploring celiac-safe eateries around the state. Due to prior misdiagnoses and dismissals of her symptoms, Tiffany received her diagnosis from a naturopathic physician.
