Marc Adam Mangus (1967- ) was born in Lancaster, California, the youngest of seven, to working class parents and grew up in California and Nevada. Marc started his career in IT in 1988 as a billing supervisor for a pharmaceutical distributor. This fired Marc’s passion for technology and he helped create the first private provider application that billed the MediCal program electronically on a large scale. Since then, Marc has worked with some of the largest companies in the United States in implementing transformative solutions, both hardware and software. Marc’s first book “Citrix: MetaFrame for Windows Terminal Services: The Official Guide” was co-authored with Steve Kaplan and published in 2001 and was the first practical guide to implement this relatively new software for large-scale application virtualization. Marc was a pioneer in virtualization and had implemented thousands of seats of this type of technology before the term was in common use. Marc was a member of the Microsoft Delta Force and the Citrix Partner advisory panel for many years. Marc continues to work as a CTO for hire, helping companies transform their strategic visions through the innovative use of new and existing technology, whether they are a startup or “Fortune 50” in size. Marc is also active with non-profits for dog rescue, rehabilitation, and training and finding ways to expand the role of canine companions in our lives for the betterment of ourselves and the animals.
