Byron Cox is a poet and short story writer who is an independent (indie) author. “Come, Walk With Me” is a collection of his poems and short stories, and is his first publication.
Born and raised in the countryside of St. Mary, Jamaica, he was inspired by an elementary school teacher who had a love for poetry and choral speaking. It was not long before Byron began dramatizing poetry and began writing poems for fun.
Byron has been using poetry as a vehicle to pay tributes to friends and family on special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. He draws upon his experiences and observations growing up in the country-side in his writing. He also employs this form to record his observations and reactions to various events, while exploring themes of love, friendship and happiness. His stories reflect human interest themes, often adding a bit of humor.
The author moved to the US in the 1980’s and is now retired from a career as a Paralegal. He lives in Laurel, Maryland with his wife Sharron and their delightful 9-year old granddaughter. Byron enjoys baking bread when he is not experimenting with container gardening.
