Roger Alan Bonner writes fiction, primarily science fiction. His main goal is to devise stories which reward or entertain the reader. His stories can be gritty at times; they are not for everyone. But then, they do not have to be.
He is interested in nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, genetic engineering, cosmology, and macroeconomics. Also in professional American football, baseball, hiking, music, dancing, graphics, and cooking. He can make chicken Marsala six different ways. He plays acoustic and electric guitar and is a big fan of guitarist Al Dimeola, actress Minnie Driver, painter Vincent van Gogh, and home run king Barry Bonds.
He worked as an economist in the US government, academia, and development agencies. A few years ago he retired, escaped from Washington, DC, went through the waterlogged state of Florida, and recently ended up in the purple part of North Carolina.
He is a recovering political junkie, weaning himself from a spectator sport which shares much with NASCAR races conducted on a tight track at high speed in the rain.
He thinks the USA is in decline, now run by the lesser sires of lesser men.
He hopes he's wrong about all that.
