I have been summering in Maine since 1957, in the Kennebunkport area since 1964. The Bike Cop series draws from the memories from Maine. So while technically I am not a Maine author, I am Maine "author-ized," i.e. steeped in the duality of being summer folk but with a full-time love for the land and its residents no matter the season.

The Maine roots include meeting my future wife in the Port and have a grand wedding there. We live in the woods in Arundel at the summer camp. When not writing in the woods, I am an admitted attorney in Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Florida where most of our six children reside.

As for the books, they're really just stories. I'm not sure I followed the rules for my genre. Anytime I thought of my lack of creative writing training, I simply pressed on to do what I love to do: tell a story. I hope it entertains because that is my number one desire: to transport the reader to a place they what to go to and stay for a while. I believe Port Talbot, Maine is that place and I look forward to sharing more about its characters and calamities.
