Nilanka Maldeniya

Nilanka Maldeniya wrote the picture book My Favorite Place while daydreaming about her favorite place during a boring legal meeting. She’s also a lawyer and usually writes contracts while sitting in places she doesn't want to write about.

Nilanka is the author of two picture book series, My Favorite and Riana’s Adventures, and the standalone titles When Rover Lost His Woof and Klaus the Mouse.

Born in Sri Lanka, Nilanka did half her growing up in the United Arab Emirates, and the other half in Canada. She has eventfully travelled England, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Hawaii and Japan. Now she lives in California with her husband and two funny little girls.
