Dr. Alice R. Cullinan

Dr. Alice R. Cullinan is Professor Emerita of Religion and Religious Education, Gardner-Webb University, where she taught for 30 years in the Department of Religion. She served as Chair of the Department for 8 of those years, and was presented the Teacher of the Year award. She has also served as Minister of Music and Education either full or part time for over 40 years. When she retired from the University, she served as Spiritual Enrichment/Christian Education Leader for the Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association in Shelby, N.C. She also co-founded Lamplighters Ministries, a non-profit ministry whose goal is to share the gospel by providing resources to churches and individuals to assist them in reaching the lost, improving their churches, and growing spiritually. She has written many books, including "Nuts and Bolts of Deacon Ministry," which is being used internationally and is available in three languages. Her books are designed to be easy to understand and apply to life. She posts devotionals on Facebook each day, and has written a devotional guide called "Joy in God's Presence." Her book, "Sorting it Out: Understanding God's Call of Ministry" is being used as a text in a number of universities and seminaries.

Dr. Cullinan has a PhD in Marriage and Family Counseling, which equipped her to write "Slaying Dragons: Dealing with Painful Emotions." Her other books include a 3-book series on prayer, as well as one on how to check your own spiritual health.
