Denise Weaver is a freelance writer, a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, and a former library director. With more than 200 published articles in local and regional magazines, she particularly enjoys interviewing others for personality profiles. She also serves as a copy editor and reader for Hippocampus Magazine.
A co-founder of Festival of Books in the Alleghenies and a Pennwriters board member, Denise’s joy of writing developed from a fifth-grade history class assignment. She had so much fun with the project that she’s been playing with words ever since. Having placed as a finalist/honorable mention in several memoir contests, she eagerly awaits her first, first-prize award.
Denise enjoys photography, cooking, and traveling, and once performed on stage at Carnegie Hall. She lives in the beautiful Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania with her husband and their golden retriever, Murphy O’Malley.
