Shelan Rodger

My life is a patchwork of different cultures and landscapes. Born in Nigeria, I spent my childhood on the Tiwi Islands north of Australia and moved to England at the age of 11. After graduating at Oxford University, I spent 9 years in Argentina, followed by a chapter in the UK and 6 years on a flower farm in Kenya, before moving to a village in southern Spain that was once a gold mine. My career has revolved around international education, learning & development, and the use of expressive arts for mental wellbeing.

Between moments an 'I' walks. Who is this 'I'? I am haunted by the potential we have to be and do so much that we may or may never do, by the connections that run in and out of individual lives, by the shared humanity that binds us all – and yet is failing to protect our future on this planet.

My books tell the stories of individuals shaped by the cards they've been dealt and what happens when life turns an unexpected corner. I aspire to write novels that are page-turners and thought-provoking at the same time.
