Sandy Loker grew up in Binghamton, New York. She received her Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Associate's degree in Nursing from SUNY Broom Community College. She also received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing at Binghamton University. Her nursing profession consisted mainly in the field of psych, home health, and hospice. But her passion has always been hospice. From Binghamton, she moved to Jupiter, FL and now is settled in San Antonio, TX with her husband Loren and her dog Wally. She also has 4 grown children Julie, Erielle, Shayla and son Joshua. She also has one grown granddaughter Amy, a great-granddaughter Ava, and a new grandson William.
Sandy’s first book “Can I Sniff my Way to Heaven?” was published November 2015. It is the adventures of Wally and Snipey who are the best of friends. They spend their days enjoying God’s nature from beautiful flowers to the warm sunshine. It is Wally's search for Heaven and the One who gave him the things he loves so much.
Her second book, “Snipets from Heaven” uses the same stars, Wally and Snipey. Dogs are an incredible tool for both children and adults because of their unconditional love and loyalty. Each Snipet book will address processing life events and encounters. It will consist of letters from Snipey in Heaven to Wally on earth. Being that Sandy is a hospice nurse, her first Snipet book deals with loss and grief. It can be the loss of a person, pet, or even a valued item.
