Jan Klein (1960 to -) was born in Harding Pennsylvania, the youngest of four children. After high school they were a veterinarian assistant for ten years. While living in Texas, they earned a degree in Electronic Engineering then returned to Pennsylvania where they worked as an Equipment Specialist for the US Army for a number of years. During this time they raised Friesian horses on their small farm in Hop Bottom. They have retired from the horse business, simply because they've discovered that they no longer "bounce" when they fall from horseback. They're resigned to raising chickens and enjoying their two dogs and two cats in the country.
