Dr Uttam Kumar

Dr. Uttam Kumar is a seasoned cybersecurity leader, a seasoned author and a speaker, with 25+ years of experience across Information Security and he has worked as CISO in multiple organizations across the globe and managed Information Security for E-commerce, Telecom, IT/Software, BFSI & Govt organizations. He has worked in leading roles for organizations like Rakuten, Tata, Airtel, Election commission of India, Intellect Design etc.

Over the course of his career, he has led large-scale security transformations, built robust cyber defence programs, and advised executive leadership and boards on managing cyber risk in an increasingly complex digital landscape. His expertise spans cybersecurity strategy, data privacy, risk governance, and operational resilience—helping organizations align security with business objectives.

As both a practitioner and thought leader, he brings a pragmatic perspective shaped by real-world experience in handling cyber incidents, regulatory expectations, and evolving threat landscapes. His work emphasizes that cybersecurity is not merely a technical function, but a critical pillar of business trust, governance, and leadership accountability.

Dr. Kumar hold Bachelor of Technology Degree in Computer Systems from Thompson Rivers University, Canada. He also holds MBA & Ph. D in the field of Information Technology. Dr. Kumar has also completed LL.B with specialization in cyber-Laws.
