Doug Bergman spent over 20 years developing Computer Science K12 curriculum. While attending and teaching school in the US, Japan, and France, he traveled extensively across the globe. He is a product of public education K-16 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Clemson University, an M.A. in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina, and a second Masters in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. He has learned and taught in every type of learning environment, including in-person, virtual, asynchronous, hybrid, blended, and workshops. He has experience developing his own curriculum, using existing curricula developed by others, leading teams to develop curriculum, and partnering with industry subject matter experts to create highly technical curricula. In addition to being honored with regional, state, national, and international recognitions, he presented numerous times at conferences worldwide. He was an active member of the Microsoft Innovative Expert Educator program for 10 years. He won several awards, including a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Several years ago, he left teaching to work at Udacity to get experience with the business side of Computer Science education. He is currently working at Splunk as a Sr. Technical Course Developer.
