Aalia Lanius

Aalia Lanius is a multiple Award-Winning Novelist, Award-Nominated Executive Producer & Podcast host. As founder of UNSUGARCOATED Media, a 501(c)(3) social enterprise, she is passionate about using her leadership skills to build a unique media company that focuses solely on projects in media geared at social impact through storytelling.

With a background story as tragic and inspirational as the characters she writes about, Aalia's favorite part about being a creative is using entertainment as a medium that educates, enlightens, empowers, and amuses her audiences. It is important to her as an artist that she provides alternate perspectives in real-life as well as in her creative works.

Having launched her debut novel, Tough Love, in 2018, she started a journey of writing fiction that strikes at social issues. The message was centered on female empowerment. With a more proficient storytelling skill and a more tempted wish to empower the under-represented groups in the society, Lanius released Jugend in 2019 to directly challenge hateful rhetoric and racism.

Lanius is also Producer and host of "UNSUGARCOATED with Aalia", a social good talk show podcast that is broadcast on Apple TV, Roku, YouTube, and most podcast platforms, including iHeart Radio, Spotify and Google Podcasts. The show was nominated for Best Use of Podcast for Social Good in 2020 and 2023. A powerful advocate for survivors of trauma and mental health education, Lanius also is known as the Executive Producer of the one-day event, EmpowerCon, which launched at the Los Angeles Convention Center in 2019.
